Email Hammer privacy policy

Who uses it

Email Hammer is used only by its owner, on Gmail accounts he owns. It has no other users.

What it accesses

It requests the Gmail read-only scope (gmail.readonly). It reads messages, labels and thread information. It cannot send, change, label, move or delete mail, and it never tries to.

Where the data goes

• The owner's computer. Messages and attachments are stored on the owner's own Mac and copied to his own backup drive. They are not uploaded to any cloud storage.
• Classification. For each message, the headers, the first ~300 characters of the text, and what is known about the sender are sent to TypeSafe's classification API, which returns a category and tags.
• Tag suggestions. Once, a small sample of headers and short text excerpts is sent to a language model through the owner's own model gateway, to suggest tag names for the owner to approve.
• The owner's assistants. The owner's own AI assistants can search the archive through a private server reachable only on his private network. Every access is logged.

Data is never sold, never used for advertising, and never shared with anyone else. Use of information received from Google APIs follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Keeping and removing data

The archive is kept on the owner's devices for as long as he chooses. Access can be revoked at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions, after which Email Hammer can no longer read the account.
